Why we do:

Each of our physicians chose a different path that led them through years of schooling because of a desire to help individuals find a solution to an issue. The physicians and mid-level providers at APEX, formerly Carondelet Orthopaedic Surgeons, work cooperatively with each other to provide sub-specialty care more efficiently and effectively. We work to give back to the community by giving our time, talent and resources to be a positive change for good. We also choose to develop a healthy workplace environment to provide better healthcare to our patients.


We treat individuals of all ages for their orthopedic and sports medicine needs with a caring, patient-centered mindset. Whether from the aging process, overuse or an accident our goal is to provide a complete and comprehensive range of specialists for your care. We also work to coordinate care both internally and externally with our partner providers, as well as your family, in order to provide the most affordable and highest quality of services available to you.

Apex Policies At a Glance

Insurance cards must be presented at each visit.

Demographic information must be updated once a year.

Co-pays are due prior to seeing the doctor.

If you have no insurance, payment is due at time of visit, prior to seeing the doctor.

The patient is responsible for all balances after the insurance payment and contractual adjustments are applied.


Appointments are available Monday-Friday during business hours. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call the office phone number and select option 1 to reach the appointment desk. You may also use our Patient Portal or our online Appointment Request.


Should a conflict arise that prevents you from keeping an appointment, please contact our office as soon as you are aware of the situation, preferably 24 hours in advance. We will make every effort to reschedule your appointment to a more convenient time.


Please have your pharmacy contact our office. We will be happy to call in prescription refills related to your orthopaedic treatment during the work week. However, we are unable to process requests that come over the weekend, so please allow enough time before close of business on Friday to process your refill requests.


If this is an emergency, please dial 911. If an emergency arises after business hours regarding your orthopaedic condition, please contact our answering service at 913-338-8380, and they will page our doctor on call. They will return your call as quickly as possible.

Insurance Participation

Patients must have private insurance or agree and adhere to the self-pay policy in order to be scheduled. Patients involved in other third party injuries without legal representation ( i.e. fall on private or corporate property, boating accident, dog bite, disputed workers compensation, etc.) will be handled as follows:


The patient must agree and adhere to the self pay policy. Even if they have private insurance we will not bill them. Private insurance will not cover these types of liability claims. This does not go against our contracts that we have with participating insurances.

Are all of the doctors board certified? Yes, all the doctors are board certified. If I am under the age of 18 can I attend the appointment alone? No, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. You may have a letter from your parent/guardian authorizing another adult to accompany you. What do I need to bring to my visit? Please bring insurance cards, photo ID, x-rays/diagnostic tests related to your condition, and a list of medications your are currently taking. Why do I have to pay a co-pay each visit? This is a contractual obligation between you and your insurance carrier. When is my co-pay due? Your co-pay is due at the time service is rendered. What forms of payment do you accept?
