Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & Other Nerve Compression Syndromes

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a compression of the median nerve at the wrist that causes numbness, tingling, burning pain, swelling, and sometimes itching. Carpal tunnel is the most common nerve compression disorder, occurring in 1-5% of the general population.

Trigger Digits & Tendonitis / Tenosynovitis

Trigger digits occur when there is swelling around tendons in the fingers resulting in the tendons not gliding smoothly. There can be pain, stiffness, and locking/clicking.

Arthritis

Osteoarthritis of the hand and wrist usually produces an intermittent dull to sharp pain in the specific joint involved that is usually worse with use.

Fractures

Tendon & Nerve Injuries

Tendon and nerve injuries occur after a laceration has penetrated deep enough to cut one of these structures. Patients typically will experience an inability to move the specific finger/wrist and may have numbness.
